This adapter fits the Baofeng UV-5R radios and several others, makes it possible to attach the flexible vest Mounted Antenna that we use for comms while flying gliders. (see my review of the antenna)

Black TNC adapter (SMA Female) fits Motorola APX series while the one marked Motorola in silver does not.
Does exactly what its supposed to. When its installed, it looks like a factory part of the radio. Cant even tell its an adapter. I have one installed on a UV-5R and another on a BF-F8HP.

Bought several for the boys, we all love them. Solid connection, goes great with the vest mounted antennas we got as well.
Way better than the ones you can find on Amazon. The male side that plug into the uv5r (SMA) is slightly shorter allowing the adapter to sit flush with the top of radio. Middle part between both sides is super robust, coated in a black finish. Was worried about the old adapter breaking off on the male SMA side, zero worries with this one.

10/10. Honestly forgot I bought this cause I put it on my wearable antenna on my pic over a year ago and forgot it was there. When I saw it in my order history I thought I’d misplaced it till I saw it was still on my antenna and still tight. This is the quality I wish all companies possessed. 15/10

Best in Class Adapter As I wrote on the SMA M review, this adapter works because it stress relives the SMA on the radio by snugging up to the radio chassis, transferring antenna side loads to the frame without bending the oh-so-delicate SMA antenna connector on civilian radios. As a bonus the mat black finish abides my "shiny stuff will get you killed" philosophy for radio gear deployed for serious things like Military, Law Enforcement, and Emergency Management/Mitigation activities. All my hand held radios are being converted over to military grade antennas (many available on this site) and these fine adapters.
