DISCUS

$334.00
Bluetooth Connectivity

Add phone calls, music, and apps like SIGNAL and Zello to your tactical headset. Runs standalone or in-line with a PTT — radio traffic is always prioritized over Bluetooth audio.

Made in USA

How It Works

DISCUS sits between your NATO-wired headset and your comms chain. Pair it to a Bluetooth device for phone calls, media, and push-to-talk apps. For radio TX/RX use a U-94 on a dynamic-mic path — not Constant Able in-line. Intelligent audio priority automatically elevates radio traffic over Bluetooth so critical traffic is never buried under phone audio.

Standalone Bluetooth

Headset DISCUS phone or tablet. Make calls, listen to music, or run SIGNAL / Zello without a radio in the loop.

With PTT + Radio

Headset DISCUS PTT radio. Radio TX/RX takes priority; Bluetooth fills the gaps between radio traffic.

Headset Compatibility

Any communication headset with a dynamic microphone, NATO wiring, and a NEXUS TP-120 / U-174 style plug — including:

  • 3M Peltor — ComTac series
  • Ops-Core AMP — connectorized (mono / mono-binaural cables)
  • OTTO — series headsets with dynamic mic + U-174
  • Other NATO-wired dynamic headsets with TP-120 / U-174

Ops-Core AMP users: Optimized for mono-binaural cables.

Key Features

  • Over-molded rugged construction
  • IP66 — dust-tight, high-pressure water jets

It was not clear from your website that the DISCUS was not compatible with your CA PTT. The original intent was to use them together. However, the CA PTT was far superior to the FalconClaw PTT alternative I also purchased in A/B testing.

DISCUS

Feel Very Durable , Great Audio , Easy to use

Fantastic addition to any civilian or preparedness comms kit. Taking phone calls or Bluetooth radio comms at the range is simply luxurious. It even works with the built-in Bluetooth on my Roku Ultra. The only improvements would be: encrypting the Bluetooth connection (afaict it's unencrypted), and adding multi-device support. It can be somewhat cumbersome to play hot potato transferring the connection between devices. Whether this is an issue or not depends entirely on your intended use.

DISCUS

Product is amazing, only issues was shipping I'm assuming USPS dropped the ball hard on this one. Tracking said it was dropped off at at the shipment Fulfillment Center and sat there for a week.

DISCUS

Store owner replied: Glad to hear you're stoked about the DISCUS, but sorry to hear that USPS wasn't up to par. Enjoy your new gear

Discus receives bluetooth very well. We had issues talking through the Discus to our phone while connected to both the radio and the phone. When we disconnected the discus from the radio, the discus was then able to transmit our voice to the phone. If there is any How to's or guidelines to fix this, please let us know.

DISCUS

Store owner replied: Hi Paul, we have this help guide for the DISCUS. If this doesn't fix your issue, please reach out so we can help. https://help.disco32.com/en-US/discus-operators-guide-371939

Disco is amazing

DISCUS

Store owner replied: Amazing, happy you're happy

It’s great

DISCUS

great device! Allows me to use my cellphone to contact support without putting phone on speaker keeping my hand free for other activity.

DISCUS

Works great. Great volume, easy to use.

DISCUS

Not a mil or LE guy. Just a dude who wanted the ability to interface with his phone and run a comms lead. He found it. Super solid product. Easy to set up.

DISCUS

Limited use time so far. Interestingly, it works quite well in the standalone configuration if you want to solely use VOIP, which is a nice option to have and allows you to stow the Discus away like a radio. In a stack with a PTT it is unmistakably quite large - but can be made to work if you accommodate it. The volume fading and balancing between radio and phone works super nice, much better than expected and so it seems to be excellent. Build quality appears very solid and I have no expectations it will break/wear easily.

DISCUS

As a law enforcement officer and former Army Special Operations soldier, the DISCUS from DISCO32 is hands-down the most versatile and reliable communication solution I've encountered. Whether I’m on a tactical SWAT mission or coordinating with fellow officers, the ability to integrate Bluetooth functionality with my standard military-grade headset is a game changer. The dual connectivity feature is incredibly useful — I can stay connected to my phone for calls and music during downtime while simultaneously monitoring radio traffic without missing a beat. The automatic audio prioritization is especially useful in dynamic/fluid situations, making sure the radio always takes precedence over Bluetooth audio when I need it most. Its compatibility with various headsets like COMTACs and the rugged, waterproof design make it perfect for both field operations and range training. I've used it for hours without any loss of functionality, and the fact that radio functions stay operational even when the battery dies adds peace of mind during long missions. The DISCUS has drastically improved my operational effectiveness by allowing seamless communication across multiple platforms, all while maintaining the reliability I expect from military-grade equipment. Highly recommended for anyone in law enforcement or military roles who needs a dependable and flexible communication solution.

DISCUS

It's the best part of my kit as far as fun goes.. it's so nice talking on my phone or listening to something while im at the flat range or riding the side by side. ..

DISCUS

Amazing. Love it so far it works great and looking forward to using it more in the future.

DISCUS

Works great

DISCUS

Outstanding Device This is an outstanding piece of kit, easy to use and configure. Good key over dampening with inbound transmissions, looking forward to jumping with it to see how it handles under freefall. As a lefty I reversed the clamp with the worlds smallest screwdriver. Haven't tried to make any calls with Signal yet, but that seems pretty straightforward given the Bluetooth connectivity. BT distance reception is also surprisingly good, accidentally left to phone downstairs and it still kept signal through the floor. Currently running with Otto NoizeBarrier headset with no issues. Solid work.

DISCUS

Big Potential I primarily use mine for music or making phone calls while on the range via Peltors. Durable and with a robust clamp. Big potential to integrate phones into your pace plan.

DISCUS

Perfect for those long flights Riding on military transport is loud, whether it is a Herc, Blackhawk, or MATV. The Discus really adds functionality to your electronic ear-pro/commo letting you jam out to your music or talk with your buddy via Signal. I've been very impressed with this system over the last 6 months. running it with AMPs, mono binaural downlead, Samsung S20 in juggernaut system. Only room for improvement I see is adding an extension cable to thread through MOLLE for use with a PTT. I'm running a medium plate carrier and hooking up a u94 PTT to the Discus to also use my PRC152 is super bulky, so right now its one or the other. Awesome device though - really happy with it!

DISCUS

Good but lacking range/ battery life Bad news first: Range is not great from on top of my head to my rear pocket I often get interference or BT dropping out, best placed on your chest with EUD near or in front pockets. Battery life only pushes about 5 hours. Good news: The device allows me to listen to anything I want without compromising my hearing protection/integrates with radio without compromising situational awareness Volume is satisfactory

DISCUS

Mission Capable BT Interface Audio is clear. Period. Hard Stop! Finally, a solution for my iPhone 13 Mini in its Juggernaut IMPCT case. Waiting to get a second in FDE for field kit so I can move the black one to the black uniform.

DISCUS

Like hot cakes Discus: Making CAS / Call for Fire / ordering pizzas under canopy / drivebys great again. Ran this with comtac v’s, iPhone 7, 152A with no problem. Great phone end to end call quality; easy to use out the box; great customer service. iPhone users make sure to select the device ( under Bluetooth settings ) and mark it off as “other” to enable calls through headset boom mike.

DISCUS

Discus Gen1 A+ '- Does everything it is supposed to. - Tough and Rugged - Very Simple and basic function - I have personally tried for years to come up with something to jam out and take calls in the same heatset while at work. - Been waiting a long time and they pulled it off. - The CR-123 lasts a long time. ***Only knock would be to have a more amplified volume on the BT side and be controlled. Two more little stiff AF buttons for volume control. Break-

DISCUS

TNVC Tan Discus If your on the edge of buying a discus. Let me push you off the boat and get it over with. 1st off, it's well made. I butter fingered it when I pulled it out of the box and dropped it. Not a scratch or any damage. It's for hard use. 2nd, set up was simple and the instructions are simple. 3rd it gives clear audio and has a great range. I tested this by walking a pretty decent count away from my phone and it stayed sharp. It was around 50 feet before it started having issues which is the same for my galaxy buds. 4th, no regrets. Just get it over with and be happy like me. Knowing you can use encrypted phone calls while larping in the woods.

DISCUS

Good first attempt It works decently well, it does what it says. However, I have two complaints. First, CR123 batteries, not a fan. They usually aren't cheap, and rechargeables are hit or miss. If they had to have 3.7v, maybe they could have considered an 18650, lots of good rechargables there. It would have made the unit bigger however. Or adjust the unit for 3v and use two AAAs. SECOND, there are some audio level issues with different devices, such as Android devices. I have tested an S8 and S21 ultra, played with lots of settings, and phone call audio level is way too low. Music levels are ok on the S21, low on S8. An external volume adjustment on this unit would have probably been a good idea. Good first attempt, I hope they innovate some more and release a revised version.

DISCUS

So sick! I have been waiting years for someone to come up with a solution like this for Comtacs since they do not have an Aux Jack like Sordins. I don’t use comms very often so I mostly just got this for the ability to get jiggy wit it while at the range. Works great, super simple set up. Highly recommend if you run Comtacs or AMPs or any other comms with a NATO downlead.

DISCUS

Incredible!!!! I received mine today and once connected I called a friend on FaceTime and he couldn’t get over the quality of the call. With my AMP’s he said that it was so clear that it sounded like a podcast. I’m extremely satisfied!

DISCUS

Awesome piece of hardware As someone who doesn’t have access to a radio with aes256 encryption just yet, this is a great piece of hardware that gives me that option to play around with encrypted comms through apps before spending a ton of money on a nice radio. Also being able to listen to tunes or take phone calls at the range through my comtacs is pretty sweet. Very happy with this device.

DISCUS

otf Pretty legit, it is probably the limit of the volume of my comtacs but got too into it and kept mag dumping whilst love sosa on repeat. Needless to say at 7 yards with my rifle i didnt hit anything but the discus was definitely on point hitting with the beat. 10/10 would drill again.

DISCUS

Great tunes Very well built, and is pretty large (about the size of my palm +/-). Wish the audio would go louder, but it could just be my Comtac iiis audio limit. Easy and fast to pair up, but power button is pretty stiff. Overall very satisfied with it: especially after waiting a year for it to drop!

DISCUS

Ops core/discus Product is very well and overbuilt, feels very robust which gives me confidence it will survive my basement / flat range larping. For ops core amp, be aware, you really gotta put effort into plugging it in. You'll feel it click when it's actually in. Otherwise it won't work as you expect. This is of course intended though. Can't recommend enough, as excellent as all discos products. The sticker is cool too

DISCUS

Amazing fusion technology! Added a Disco32 DISCUS Bluetooth module to my tactical comm setup and it came last week. It allows you to use your phone and radios simultaneously. Module runs inline between your headset and radio push-to-talk. You can have your phone setup running a police scanner app, have a phone conversation over encrypted app, or listen to a radio app or even music. When someone calls in on your radio, it does very well at prioritizing radio traffic over your EUD. Great fusion tech for personal comms for day-to-day and crisis situations!

DISCUS

AMP’d Up Running the Discuss with Ops Core AMPs. Fantastic combo! Be mindful of the Ops Core downlead. It will take a little extra to have it seat all the way. The shroud on the Discuss will slightly expand to accept it. If you are getting music at low volumes, give this a try. Stoked to have music without compromising comms interface.

DISCUS

What we've always wanted I've been wanting something like this for years. Works great just make sure you push your down lead in really hard

DISCUS

Solid Got the goods today. Initial setup was a piece of cake. Works flawlessly.

DISCUS

Tried DISCUS at SHOT 2022 it was awesome Got a chance to use this at SHOT 2022 and it was dope; made a signal phone call as well as listened to some music.
