⚠ Which Adapter Do I Need?
3M has replaced the original universal ARC adapter with two generation-specific models. These adapters are not interchangeable — each is engineered for a different headset mounting system. Using the wrong adapter will result in a poor fit and potential failure under use.

🪖Universal Rail Compatibility — Both adapters mount to any reverse-dovetail style accessory rail: Ops-Core FAST (SF, XP, XR, RF1, Maritime), Team Wendy EPIC/EXFIL, Galvion Viper/Caiman, and similar FAST-standard systems.
🔄Click-Out / Click-In — Intuitive stowed and active positions. Rotate earcups up and away when not in use, snap back into listening position instantly.
✂️Headband Replacement — Replaces the standard headband entirely. Remove headband, install ARC adapters, and gain improved comfort and helmet integration.
⚖️Reduced Pressure Points — Eliminates headband hot spots under helmets. Weight transfers to the helmet suspension system for better long-term comfort.
P3ADG47-F — What’s New for ComTac VII / VIII / IX
The P3ADG47-F adapter is a ground-up redesign, not just a compatibility update. 3M addressed several long-standing operator complaints with the older ARC mounting system:
🔧Three Capsule Mounts — The older P3ADG-F uses two capsule mounts. The P3ADG47-F adds a third mount point for more stable earcup retention, reducing wobble and improving seal consistency during movement.
🎯A47 Ambidextrous Mic Mount — The single biggest improvement. Older ARC adapters use a fixed single-side mic post — left-handed shooters had to physically relocate the boom mic to the opposite earcup to avoid interference with their weapon. The A47 mount supports both left- and right-handed operators without moving the microphone. Compatible with MT71 series boom mics.
⚡Faster Headband-to-Helmet Transition — Redesigned cable attachment system optimized for the ComTac VII/VIII’s enhanced AGM headband. Faster swap between headband and helmet-mounted configurations in the field.
🌡️Heat Relief — Improved ventilation and heat dissipation when earcups are rotated into the “open” stowed position during downtime.

DISCO32 Constant Able PTT — Full ComTac Compatibility
Once your ComTac is helmet-mounted, you need a push-to-talk adapter to connect to your radio. The DISCO32 Constant Able series PTTs connect directly to the ComTac’s NATO U-174 connector — no adapters, no downleads. The Constant Able’s auto-switching circuit detects your headset’s dynamic microphone and adjusts impedance automatically — no manual configuration required.
This gives ComTac operators single-channel push-to-talk capability across a wide range of conventional and LMR radios: Motorola APX/XTS, Kenwood, Hytera, Harris/L3Harris, Icom, Baofeng, and more.
