How It Works

This hot mic safety slips snugly over U-94/A with an audible click locking it into the U-94/A's ribbed side. The device makes it almost impossible for the radio operator to hit their push-to-talk switch accidentally.

The PTT button remains fully functional through the recessed opening — it just requires deliberate, direct pressure to activate, preventing accidental keying from gear contact, body movement, or prone positioning.

Note: Not needed for Constant Able PTTs — the Constant Able uses a different mechanical design with a built-in hot mic shroud.

Updated Review I originally wrote a review where I gave this product a two star rating. The reason for it was that it would come off very easily and in essence was useless. Josh the owner contacted me and let me know he was sending the new version to me. After receiving the new version and placing it on my ptt, I found that it was solid. It has some slight movement on one side, which I think is good if you ever want to remove it, however, it is staying in place and would require more effort to remove than the original. I am changing my original two star rating to a five star rating, not only for a solid piece of gear that will definitely protect the ptt from accidental transmissions but also for the the way Josh reached out to fix the issue. Thanks Josh!

U-94/A - Mic Safety 2.0

The Mk 2 is Fantastic! The new "Click Lock" version that ties into the U-94/A ribs is ROCK SOLID! You can put it on with a click and depress the PTT and roll it off if you need to. You won't need to take it off though. This is now a solid piece of kit that will stay on.
