Dynamic vs. Electret — Which Variant?
Dynamic (Amped)
~150Ω dynamic microphone — requires amplification circuit in the adapter
Headsets: Peltor COMTAC, Ops-Core AMP, MSA Sordin MIL, OTTO NoizeBarrier, Earmor M31/M32
Electret
~2kΩ electret microphone — no amplification needed
Headsets: 3M Peltor LiteCom, commercial/LE electret headsets
Wrong impedance = no transmit audio. Dynamic mics on an electret adapter produce barely audible or silent transmissions. When in doubt, choose Dynamic — most tactical headsets are dynamic.
