Ops-Core’s lightest helmet rated for 7.62×39 mm mild steel core (not the lightest rifle-rated helmet in the FAST line — see FAST XR for lead-core rifle rating at lower shell weight). At an average of 3.5 lbs system weight, the RF1 stops 7.62×39mm MSC, 7.62×51mm M80 Ball NATO, and 5.56mm M193 — plus full NIJ IIIA handgun and fragmentation protection. The most advanced carbon/UPE/aramid shell composite in the Ops-Core lineup.

  • Modular Bungee Shroud (MBS): Integrated carabiner clips improve NVG retention and stability. Reduces snag hazards.
  • Recessed Headset Groove: Channel molded into the EPP liner accommodates over-the-head comms headsets — don and doff the helmet without removing your headset.
  • EPP Impact Liner: Expanded polypropylene liner with molded vent holes for enhanced impact protection and airflow.
  • High Cut Geometry: Shell extends over rear occipital lobe for critical coverage. Raised ear cut clears communication headsets and earpro.

Construction Technology

  • Non-Slit Construction: Constructed using a proprietary Two-Stage Non-Slit molding process (U.S. Patents 7,849,517; 9,717,294). Unlike competitors that cut (slit) fibers to fit molds, Ops-Core maintains continuous fiber integrity for maximum ballistic strength-to-weight ratio.
  • 7.62×39mm Protection: The only helmet system capable of stopping 7.62×39mm Mild Steel Core (MSC) rounds at a muzzle velocity of 2,380 ft/s, bridging the gap between fragmentation helmets and hard rifle plates with a shell weight of only 2.59 lbs (Size L).

Gentex Ops-Core limited warranty — 5 years from delivery on unaltered ballistic helmet shells for defects in material and workmanship under normal use. This is a manufacturer warranty (not a DISCO32 factory warranty). DISCO32 will assist with RMA coordination and proof of purchase; claim resolution is determined by Gentex.
