RAILINK-Enabled FAST SF Helmet System

NIJ IIIA ballistic helmet with the RAILINK integrated power and data rail system. Combines the next-generation FAST SF shell, LockDown Liner, and Head-Loc Flex chinstrap with RAILINK ARC Rails that deliver power and high-bandwidth data to NVGs and accessories from a single battery source — no separate accessory batteries or cable management required.

RAILINK Power & Data System

  • RAILINK ARC Rails: Standard dovetail track for mechanical attachment plus an integrated power and data transmission network. One set of rails replaces separate power cables, battery packs, and cable management for every rail-mounted accessory.
  • Smart Nodes: Mechanical attachment points that also provide electronic power and low-speed data connections for compatible accessories.
  • Universal VAS/NVG Power Interface: Powers a broad array of night vision systems — including the latest fused digital/I² NVGs — directly through the rail. No dedicated NVG battery packs.
  • Single Battery Source: Dedicated circuits provide power and high-bandwidth data to both VAS/NVG and accessory systems from one power source.

Base Helmet — FAST SF Next Gen

Same NIJ IIIA ballistic shell, LockDown Liner, and Head-Loc Flex chinstrap as the standalone FAST SF Next Gen — with RAILINK rail integration.

  • NIJ IIIA — 9mm V0 at 1,195 ft/s per USSOCOM FTHS spec
  • LockDown Liner — Fit Shims, cable Occ-Dial, conformable nape pad, moisture-wicking foam
  • Head-Loc Flex — Convertible chin cup (over or under chin), eliminates mask extender for most users
  • MBS — Modular Bungee Shroud with carabiner clips

Key Features

  • Recessed Headset Groove: Channel molded into EPP liner accommodates over-the-head comms headsets without interference.
  • External VELCRO Loop Kit: Quick attach/detach for IFF patches, IR markers, and accessories.

Battery Pack+ & Hotshoe

The Battery Pack+ is the centralized single point of power for the entire RAILINK ecosystem. It attaches to the rear Hotshoe via a two-point engagement: lower mount points engage first, then the pack tilts into place and a rear screw secures it. A top cover screw engages a secondary retention mechanism.

Battery Pack+ Specifications
Power Source 6× AA L91 Energizer Ultimate Lithium (positive terminals up)
Node Voltage 13V
VAS Voltage Auto-select 3V or 9V
Coulomb Counter Delivers charge-state information to data-enabled VAS devices
Accelerometer Interprets NVG position to auto power-down when not in use
ON/OFF Switch Rear of battery pack — disable for short-term storage; remove batteries for long-term

Smart Nodes & VAS Connector

Front and Rear Accessory Nodes provide both mechanical attachment and electronic power/data connection. Accessories align via indexing cones and mount with screws torqued to 5 in·lbs (0.6 Nm). Nodes supply 13V power and low-speed data to compatible accessories — lights, strobes, and sensors mount directly without separate batteries.

The VAS/NVG Connector is a 9-pin interface with white-dot alignment. It delivers auto-selected 3V or 9V power and high-bandwidth data to night vision systems. Dedicated cables routed within the RAILINK assembly eliminate external battery-pack cables and snag hazards.

Supported NVG/VAS Systems
PVS-31A BNVD-1531
GPNVG-18 Kestrel
F-Pano F-Bino
BNVD-F (via RAILINK NVG/VAS Cable)

Installation & Sizing

  • RAILINK replaces existing ARC Rails — four ballistic screws at 17 in·lbs (1.9 Nm), adjustment screws at 5 in·lbs (0.6 Nm)
  • Width adjustment via 3/32" hex screws with indexing marks for M, L, XL, XXL (longer screws included for XL/XXL)
  • Internal flat ribbon cable must be gently formed into an “S” shape — no sharp creases
  • Hotshoe remains centered via alternating-side tightening of adjustment screws
  • Requires RAILINK Ballistic Hardware Kit matched to helmet model (sold separately)
