Ballistic Helmet

FAST SF Next Generation Headborne System

Ops-Core's lightest ballistic helmet system. NIJ IIIA certified with a 10–15% system weight reduction over the legacy SF — enabled by three new subsystems: a next-generation ballistic shell, the LockDown Liner, and the Head-Loc Flex chinstrap. Selected by USSOCOM as the exclusive FTHS (Family of Tactical Headborne Systems) provider.

Weight by Size

Size Head Circ. Shell Weight System Weight Coverage
Medium 20⅞–22″ 1.12 lbs (508g) 1.99 lbs (904g) 137 in²
Large 22–23¼″ 1.23 lbs (557g) 2.09 lbs (949g) 148 in²
X-Large 23¼–24⅜″ 1.32 lbs (597g) 2.19 lbs (992g) 163 in²
XX-Large 24⅜–25⅛″ 1.34 lbs (610g) 2.23 lbs (1,014g) 171 in²

System weight = shell + LockDown Liner + Head-Loc Flex chinstrap. Shell thickness: 0.170″ (4.32 mm). Two-stage non-slit construction.

4-Grain RCC 3,475
17-Grain FSP 2,297
64-Grain RCC 1,750

Three Next-Gen Subsystems

  • Next-Gen Ballistic Shell: Same ballistic performance as the legacy SF at 10% less shell weight (1.23 lbs vs 1.44 lbs, size L). Thinner shell (0.170″ vs 0.220″) enabled by advanced carbon/UPE/aramid composite layup.
  • LockDown Liner System: User-customizable suspension with LockDown Fit Shims and a cable Occ-Dial with conformable nape pad. Moisture-wicking reticulated foam adapts to individual head shapes. Cable routing provides interference-free fit with headband communication systems like the AMP. Molded vent holes increase airflow and reduce heat stress.
  • Head-Loc Flex Chinstrap: Convertible chin cup wears over or under the chin — eliminates the need for a mask extender with O2 and CBRN kits for most users. Optimized buckles and sliders improve usability.

Key Features

  • PowerPath ARC Rails: Lightweight mounting rails with a behind-the-rail channel for routing NVG cables without snagging or interference.
  • Modular Bungee Shroud (MBS): Replaces traditional skeleton shrouds. Integrated carabiner clips improve NVG retention and stability while reducing snag hazards.
  • Recessed Headset Groove: Channel molded into the EPP liner accommodates over-the-head comms headsets (AMP, COMTAC, etc.) — don and doff the helmet without removing your headset.
  • External VELCRO Loop Kit: Quick attach/detach for IFF patches, IR markers, counterweights, and other accessories.
