The Voice Projection Unit (VPU) is an optional add-on for the Ops-Core SOTR with Microphone, built to make sure your voice is heard when it matters most. It delivers clear, powerful voice projection in loud, fast-moving environments, helping teams stay coordinated and aware even without comms.

The VPU attaches quickly to the SOTR with a simple, tool-free design, making it easy to add or remove as mission needs shift. It connects directly to standard push-to-talk (PTT) devices using the SOTR's existing microphone port and integrates seamlessly with tactical headsets. This allows operators to move instantly between projecting their voice locally and switching to secure wired communications, all while maintaining respiratory protection.

  • 3 Loudness Settings: Features an oversized, glove-friendly rotary dial allowing the operator to quickly switch between Off, Low, Medium, and High projection volumes to match the ambient noise of the environment.
  • Comms Pass-Through: Engineered with a dedicated 2-pin pass-through connector. This allows you to plug your standard Ops-Core comms cable directly into the VPU, feeding your SOTR mask mic to your radio and headset simultaneously.
  • Tool-Free Integration: Utilizes a simple locking slide arm that snaps directly onto the SOTR’s central microphone housing. No tools required for rapid field attachment or removal.
  • Standard Power: Powered by a single, easily replaceable CR123 battery, providing up to 24 hours of continuous operation.

Installation & Comms Routing

Prior to first use, the SOTR lock nut and filter gasket must be swapped with the provided VPU-compatible hardware. Once installed, simply align the VPU pins with the SOTR microphone receivers and engage the slide lock. To use a radio without local voice projection, simply rotate the VPU dial to the "OFF" position; your secure radio comms will continue to pass through seamlessly.
